Amore e Raggi di Sole ♥

Love and Rays of Sunshine. Random thoughts, Every Single Day.

OBVIOUS.

I hate it when people are trying to hide something from you and they totally act as if nothing happened.

“I am grateful to ABS-CBN but this is damn irresponsible. You do not go about propagating WAR. Especially if you can reach at least 80% of the population.” “I condemn the ABS CBN TV Patrol POLL dated October 20, 2011 for irresponsibly asking a complex question: “Papayag ba kayo na itigil na peace talks at mag ALL OUT WAR na laban sa MILF?” While 97% voted for YES, does this follow that 97% want to stop the peace talks AND at the same time launch an ALL OUT WAR against the MILF? Let us not allow a question to compromise the peace talks. NO to sensationalizing of news and complex questions. YES to fairness and accuracy of news! MEDIA, KNOW YOUR RESPONSIBILITY! [Please post this in your status until this reaches the mainstream.”

I have always hated the way we report news. It is vastly unfair to Muslims. As I said in a previous post: It pains my ear how they report such things on local news too, if a crime was committed by a Muslim, they are quick to point it out like “Isang Muslim ang nangholdap ng banko!” yet we never hear “isang Kristayano ang nang rape ng bata!”. It’s stupid & irresponsible.

Benilde gets a lot of beef for being known as a “patapon” school. In a way, it makes sense for Benilde to be called this. It’s the perfect place for misfits to finally find a place where cosplay in the caf is an everyday practice, where nerds get high in nearby bars, and where anyone can get full for less than fifty pesos. That’s what we are. We’re misfits. We’re people who didn’t do so well in Math and would like to have as little of it as possible. We’re the ones who can’t explain the Ripple Effect in detail but could probably sketch a wicked looking water fountain in ten seconds (I can’t, but I’m pretty sure a bajillion other people in my school could). We’re the ones who may not know a thing about Management Engineering but can run circles around you as you try to explain Political Economics. We probably can’t chemically fuse plutonium and nitrogen like you could, but at least we can cook a mean shrimp scampi.CSB is a “patapon” place, you say. Then again, some old bat did say that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. We may not fit in your world now, but you will surprisingly find that in a few years’ time, you’ll be adjusting to fit in a world that we Benildeans have loftily created for ourselves. Because we’re the shit like that.

“Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.”
